Common parts of GS Paper I, II, III & IV and PSIR

PSIR and GS Paper I and II

• Analyse the syllabus and previous years’ papers of both GS and PSIR, and identify the common and overlapping topics. For example, governance, constitution, polity, social justice, international relations, post-independence consolidation, ideologies, social issues, security, and environment are some of the areas that are covered in both GS and PSIR.

• Make a study plan that covers both the GS and PSIR syllabus in a balanced and integrated manner. You can allocate time and resources according to the weightage and importance of each topic. You can also prioritize the topics that are more relevant and dynamic for the current affairs and the exam trends.

• Refer to the standard books and sources for both GS and PSIR, and make notes of the important concepts, facts, and examples. • The ethical challenges and dilemmas faced by the civil servants and public officials in their professional and personal lives, such as corruption, nepotism, whistle-blowing, accountability, transparency, integrity, probity, etc. These topics are covered in both the PSIR paper II and the ethics paper. • The ethical values and virtues that are essential for the civil servants and public officials, such as honesty, empathy, compassion, courage, loyalty, commitment, etc. These topics are covered in both the PSIR paper II and the ethics paper.
